Traditional Japanese Jujutsu
Our school periodically hosts and constantly has information about seminars on traditional Jujustu arts. Contact us anytime for more info.
Our traditional Style of Jujutsu is based on Sho-Chiku-Bai Principals developed by the Sei Kosho Shorei Kai International. There is no curriculum catalog, as our practice is based on Concepts and Principals contained in drills on techniques taught. We train as an auxiliary art to our weaponry.
Jujutsu, jujitsu, ju jutsu, ju jitsu, or jiu jitsu is a traditional Japanese martial art that encompasses many techniques in defense against an opponent. Unlike popular belief, It is not limited to joint locks and throws. Nor is it exclusively practiced as ground fighting. It developed in ancient Japan as a technique to be used on the battlefield in conjunction with a weapon, and was an essential part of samurai training. During the peaceful Edo Period in Japan, jujutsu evolved into unarmed combat which could be useful in civilian life. Countless schools and styles emerged and still are being developed in present day, all with different historical and modern applications.
