NO, It’s better. It’s a highly interactive DISTANCE program, not a library only on-line program.
And I am an authentic licensed instructor with well over 20 years experience in teaching Iaido.
My Name is Sensei Tom, and I love to get to know my students as best I can. Through additional methods like Video conferencing, Phone calls, emails and the popular Budo academy Live feature, you will have access to all that is available to be a real student from a REAL dojo.
And of course though the password protected video library.
Yes The Budo Academy is my actual dojo located in Providence Rhode Island. it’s part of an international organization called the Yamato Ryu Nippon Budo Kai. Which means you can actually visit the dojo if you want to! It’s the real deal.
I am responsible for instruction of Iaido to all the students and dojos in the USA for the YNBK and I use the distance program to introduce potential new students to the wonderful art of the Japanese sword. I don’t just collect funds and leave you on your own to struggle. Having trouble with a technique? Send me a message and I’ll make a video. I’m a serious teacher, and I expect serious students.
Is distance learning more difficult than actual direct instruction at a dojo? Yes it can be, however with hard work and determination it can be done. This program has many success stories with some students actually becoming teachers themselves in their own dojos!
